Kiyona Energy and ARC Power Sign FUSE Agreement to Support Renewable Energy Development

Kiyona Energy Limited and ARC Power have signed a FUSE Agreement aimed at supporting renewable energy development and expanding access to reliable electricity across Zambia.
ZESCO Chief Technical Officer Peter Chamfya, speaking on behalf of Managing Director Justin Loongo, said Kiyona Energy was established to complement ZESCO’s efforts in meeting the country’s growing energy needs and has since made significant progress in developing renewable energy projects, attracting investment and building strategic partnerships.
He noted that the agreement represents another important step towards strengthening Zambia’s energy sector, supporting economic growth and creating opportunities for communities across the country.
“As a subsidiary of ZESCO, Kiyona’s success is our success. More importantly, it is Zambia’s success,” he said.
Kiyona Energy Chief Executive Officer, Eng. Clement Siame, said the agreement demonstrates the importance of collaboration between government, utilities, investors and private sector partners in addressing energy challenges and driving development.
He thanked the Government of the Republic of Zambia and ZESCO Limited for their continued support and expressed confidence that the partnership with ARC Power would unlock future projects and investment opportunities.
ARC Power Chief Executive Officer Karl Bomce said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to expanding access to clean and reliable energy in Zambia.
He noted that the collaboration with Kiyona Energy provides a strong platform to deliver impactful projects that will improve livelihoods and support economic development.
Permanent Secretary for Electricity in the Ministry of Energy, Eng. Arnold Milner Simwaba, said the partnership comes at a time when Zambia is accelerating efforts to strengthen energy security, diversify its energy mix and expand access to reliable electricity.
He added that the agreement reflects growing investor confidence in Zambia’s energy sector and supports Government’s vision of building a resilient and sustainable energy industry.
The FUSE Agreement is expected to contribute to increased renewable energy generation, attract further investment and support expanded access to electricity for communities across Zambia.
